Principle of operation
  • This process allows filtering up to 95% particles larger than 5 nanometers (0.005 microns).
    • A strong electrostatic field is created between a rigid wire (cathode) negatively charged and a collecting cylinder positively charged (anode). The solid particles (grease, dust, fumes, water vapor) are ionized during their passage and collected on the inside of the cylinder.
    • Efficiency is improved by the production of ozone by negative corona (corona) discharge. A Corona discharge is an electrical discharge caused by the ionization of the medium surrounding a conductor. Corona discharges have many commercial and industrial applications and in particular the creation of ozone ensuring the filtering of particles contained in the air and the destruction of organic particles.
    • For optimum ozone efficiency, it is necessary to provide a contact time with the exhaust air of 2 seconds.
    • The cylinders are mounted in parallel to form a battery through which the polluted extract air passes.
  • The removable collector system must be cleaned periodically.
